Jonathan Rea completes a Mandalika World Superbike double after taking victor♉y in a wet race two from Scott Redding. 

After a lengthy𒁃 delay, race two finally got underway in the shape of a revisedꦦ 12 lap distance. 

Unlike rac▨e one Rea got a poor start and weℱnt from second to fifth, while Razgatlioglu led from pole.

However, Rea immediately carved his way back through the lead group as he got past Garrett Gerloff, Axel Bassani and Red♑ding to slot in behind Razgatlioglu. 

Rea then took the lead from Razgatlioglu at turn 15 before the pair exchanged first place at turns one and two to behind lap t⭕wo. 

Razgatlioglu momentarily regained the lead at turn 12, but Rea was once again quick in respo🌳nding at turn 15 which helped Redding come through and into sec⛎ond.  

On lap three Re꧃dding took the lead away from Rea at the same turn 12 that Raz𝓰gatlioglu had done so, while Leandro Mercado crashed from sixth. 

There was contact on lap five as Bassani squeezed Razgatlioglu at turn 16. The Yamaha rider kept hold o📖f the inside line before Michael Van Der Mark clipped Bassani which sent the Italian down and into the gravel. 

Lap six saw back-to-back position swaps at turn 15 as Redd﷽ing got through on Rea and Van Derඣ Mark on Razgatlioglu. The new world champion responded at turn one to regain third, however, it created a near two second gap to the leaders. 

In an ever-changing fight for the lead, Rea got back through on Redding at mid-race distance, while Razgatlioglu used his impressive braking at turn one to back ahead of Van De🐷r Mark.&n🔜bsp;

The Dutch rider eventually got the bet🐻ter of Razgatlioglu for the podium, while at the front Rea made 🌞a small mistake on the exit of turn 16. 

Rea’s error allowed Redding to get the drive along the main straight, but the six-time world champion got back through at turn t꧋en which ended up being the race winning overtake. Redding attempted to go down the inside of Rea at turn 15 but ran wide in doing so. 

Earlier in the day Toprak Razgatlioglu was crowned the ne🐈w 2021 World Superbike champion after finishing second behind Jonathan Rea in race one at Mandalika.

Razgatlioglu’s championship win sees him become the first rider to beat Jonathaꦍn Rea to the WorldSBK title sin𝕴ce 2015.

Razgatlioglu joins MotoGP star Fabio Quartararo in winning world titles during the same season for Yamaha, while it’s also the first time a Yamaha rider has won the Superbike title since 2009 (Ben Spies) - coincidently that was another year where both the MotoGP🧜 and WorldSBK title went to Yamaha riders as Valentino Rossi claimed the last of his nine world titles. 

Before Saturday’s qualifying took place Alex Lowes w🎉as declared unfit after suffering an AC joint injury following a highside crash in FP3.

WorldSBK FP3 took place without ಌTeam HRC rider Leon Haslam aft꧋er it was confirmed that the British rider would take no further part in his final weekend as a world championship rider due to a shoulder injury.
