Barcelona WorldSBK: 'Severe concussion' but Tom Sykes 'in good spirits'

BMW WorldSBK star Tom Sykes remains in hospital under observation for 'severe concussion' susta🎃ined in a race-stopping accident in Barcelona on Sunday.
But the Englishman, struck by Lucas Mahias after falling in the second main race, fortunately suffered no other in♊juries and is expected toꩵ leave hospital on Wednesday.
Despite t🌟he severe concussion, Sykes' participation in this weekend's Jerez round – which starts on 𒅌Friday - has not yet been ruled out.
“We are in constant contact with Tom,” said BMW Motorrad Motorsport Director Marc Bongers. “He is in goඣod spirits and iﷺs back to his usual self, cracking jokes. We are delighted that he has come through this accident relatively well.
"He remains under observation due to the severe concussion, but no further🤡 injuries have been determined. We now have to wait and see what th🦄is coming weekend will look like.
"We will provide more information as soon as we get it. We would like to thank the track🍨 marshals, the medical staff at🔯 the circuit and in the hospital, and everyone who helped Tom so well after his accident and who are continuing to help him.”
