WorldSBK test: Scott Redding second for Ducati on first day of testing in Misano

Former MotoGP rider and 2019 BSB champion Scott Redding concluded day one of World🌼SBK testing at the Circuit World Marco Simoncelli in second place behind Pata Yamaha's Toprak Razgatlioglu, as both riders went faster than the 2015 race lap record set by Jonathan Rea.
Wi꧒th testing opportunities limited ahead of the new season, both Pata Yamaha and Aruba.it Ducati are using this two-day test to try new parts and gather as much information as possible ahead of the only official organised test in Barcelona next month.
As expected, Redding was on the pace throughout much of day one in Misano, finishing less than two tenths behind Razgatlioglu and a further two tenths ahead oꩵf new team-mate Michael Ruben-Rinaldi.
Speaking after being baℱck on track with the Aruba.it Ducati Racing team, Redding said: "It was good to 💞have blue skies for most of the day, and good temperature.
"The wind was a little bit cold but you can’t complain with the weather conditions. I was happy to be back on my Aruba.it Ducati bike to get the feeling again for pushing. I always miss that feeling.🧸
"Today was a little shakedown to understand a few things and also for myself to get a good feeling with t﷽he bike, so I’m really happy."
After testing a lot of new parts and continuing to push the development on day one in the aim of challenging Kawasaki on a consistent basis in 2021, Reddin🃏g wants to have more continuity o🦹n the final day, so that he can help bring more to the table.
Redding added: "Honestꦏly I just want to ride for myself as we always change a lot of things on the bike for development because we need to do that as soon as posဣsible, but there also needs to be a time where I can ride the same bike at least three times in a row.
"Always when you change between bikes it is good for performance, but I feel sometimes I can bring more to the table by understanding the bike and the different things with the Superbike to go 🦂faster.
"So tomorrow that will be the main focus and we will try a couple of things to improve, b🍬ut I want to ride for me."
