Tom Sykes ha🉐s regained his third place finish in the second World Superbike ꧃race at Monza after the FIM reversed the results again following an earlier post-race protest.

Sykes finished thi🎃rd on the road during the second race, but was later judged 💯to have gained an unfair advantage over Sylvain Guintoli when he ran on at the Roggia chicane moments after passing the Frenchman.

Aprilia༒ subsequently submitted a protest and won, with Sykes handed a💮 one second penalty that would reverse the positions in Guintoli's favour.

However🎶, with Sykes insisting he was well past Guintoli before he ran on at the💦 chicane - instead claiming he did it to avoid an early-braking Marco Melandri ahead and not because he out-braked himself -, the FIM would subsequently return the results to their original order.

As such, Guintoli, who was adamant in his post-race comments that a 🐷penalty for Sykes was obvious, has seen his lead in the standings is reduced back to 13 points over Eugene Laverty. Sykes is now 18 points behind Guintoli in third place.

Aprilia have the opportunity to counter-appeal agai☂n over the next five days meaning the result remains provisional.
