Former sports car, rally and F1 driver Vic Elford is the first star n൲ame to commit to appearing at the firs𝓡t Rally Show to be held at Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, on May 14-15 2011, it has been confirmed.

Now livin💖g in the USA, 'Quick Vic', as he was nicknamed, has a very impressive motorsport CV. Having started out as a co-driver, a move across to the driving 🅷seat in 1961 saw the beginning of a legendary career which was to last for over 20 years.

His first works drives were for Triumph, then Ford, with 🅷whom he distinguished himself on the Alpine Rally by winning the Touring category in 1964.

But he moved to Porsche at the ♒end of 1966. Elford was European Rally Champion in 1967, finishing third on the Monte Carlo and 💙winning the Tulip, Lyons-Charbonnieres and Geneva rallies outright.

The following 𓆉year - in the space of a single week - he won the Monte Carl💜o Rally in a Porsche 911 and the Daytona 24-Hour Race in a Porsche 907.

That 𒅌year, he also won the Targa Florio - after losing 18 minutes when a wheel came off - and also started his first Grand Prix, in France, finishing fourth overall. Over the next few seasons he drove for the Cooper, McLaren and BRM.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, organisers added that regulations for 🐷the competitive even♔ts at the Rally Show will be published on its official website on December 15.
