Claiming third place in today's 250km race and the overall round, the 🐽podium was Brazilian's first since entering the category two season♔s ago.

"This is a great fe💧eling and such a fantastic way to finish the year," said Wilson. "It's a great result for myself and for the Shell Helix team because we've been working really hard this year."

Making a slow start, Wilson dropped several positions on the opening lap, but was able to ജcharge back in♐to contention.

"My car was been really competitive for the whole weekend and it felt really goodꦏ," Wilson added. "But I didn't get off the line quickly and I dropped some spots at the start.

"Half way through the race we put on a new set of tyres and they were working beautifully and I could make some groꦓund on the guys in fro🐭nt."

Finishing under safety car conditions, th꧟e race was red-flagged seven laps before full race distance as the searing heat gave way to a massive electrical storm which left the 𒊎circuit without power.

"It🐻 was really tough race and when the storm came I think stopping the race was the right thing for the officials to do."

With the close of the season, the Queensland-based Wilson was pleased to finish up the year on a high note and has already turned his attention to the 200༒4 V8 Supercar competition.

"I've raced all around the world in different categories and theඣ V8 Supercar Series is the best touring car series anywhere and I'm really proℱud to be a part of it," Wilson concluded.

"The BA Falcon wa🌠s great and I'm looking forward to more V8 racing next year; hopefully I'll be around racing in Australia for a long time to come."

Wilson's team-mate, Steve Johnson saw his seas🔯on finish in much less favourable circumstances, as🧸 the 29 year old was sidelined when an engine failure sent him sliding off on his own oil at turn one.

"It just let go and that was it," said a disappointed Johnꦰson. "We've finally got a good package, but still no luck for meꦯ and now I'm going to have to wait until next year to get the results I've been after for so long.

"At least we had one car up there which is fantastic for theꦑ team - Max did a great job this weekend."

Johnson f🌠inished a difficult season i꧅n 16th position scoring 1260 points, with Wilson right behind in 17th place on 1211 points.
