Murphy assumes Bathurst throne.

The true winners of this weekend's Bob Jane T-Marts♍ 1000 might not be known until Sunday night, but Kmart Racing's Greg Murphy has already sat atop the 'throne' at Mount Panorama.

The Kmart racer took Australian motor racing's most famous toilet break during last year's race, when he was serving a controversial five-minute penalty for a pit-lane infringement. The penalty cost him and then co-driver Todd Kelly a shot🌱 at winning the race, but added to Murphy's media stജatus.

Today, the Australian can make light of the situation, and marked his preparation for this weekend's Bathurst event by ไtaking to the awesome Mount Panorama circuit in a mobile V8 Super Loo - the dual Bathurst winner sitting comfortably 'in the seat'.

"I have to admit I felt quite comfortable in there, so I intend to be in the same position on Sunday night - so to speak," Murphy grinned, "We weren't all that happy with last year's penalty but, knowing I was going to be asked about it, we thought it was best to make some fun of it and there's nothing better than a little bit of toilet humour. Y💃ou really do have to laugh at yourself sometimes."

Murphy and 2003 co-driver Rick Kelly will drive the #51 Kmart Racing Ho♏lden VY Commodore in this weekend's race, having finished third at the recent Sandown 500.

"The V8 Super Loo was a pretty impressive machine, but we'll be making the switch back in time for tomorrow's first practice session," Murphy insisted, "Rick and I had a good run at Sandown a🧜nd an extremely positive test at Winton last week. We intend making amends for last year."
