Ex-Formula 1 driver Paul di Resta will race full-time in the FIA World Endurance Championship from the start of the 2019/20 season after being named in Uꦬnited Autosports' line-up for its debut campaign.
Di Resta has raced with United Autosports since the start of 2018, appearing in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year. The Briton recently clinched the Asian Le Mans Series title alongside Phil Hans🌺on, ma♔𝄹rking his first title in prototype sports cars.
Having confirmed its entry to the WEC's LMP2 class from the start of the 2019/20 season earlier this year, United Aᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚutosports announced on Monday that di Resta would link up with Hanson and Filipe Albuquerq⛎ue to form its line-up.
“I’m really happy to be continuing with United Autosports in Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship," said 🍨di Resta.
"I think to continue where we haꦓve been with Phil in the Asian Le Mans Series and bringing the first LMP2 championship to the team, the obvious next step is to move into a world championship. It’s good that the driver line up is a familiar one, with Filipe being part of it too.
"It’s definitely a challenge I am up for. We have a little bit of time to prepare for it but I think that Unit▨ed are more than capable of taking it on."
Di Resta, Hanson and Albuquerque will race together at this year's 24 Hours of Le Man🍰s for United Autosports before the start of the new WEC season at Silverstone on September 1.
