Former Cock o'the North Trophy and International Gold Cup winner, Roger Marshall makes a welcome return to Oliver's Mount 🌺as a special guest for next weekend's Barry Sheene Class♈ic Road Race Festival.

During a nineteen-year road racing career, the Lincolnshire born rider won a total of seven British Championships and became one of the most🌼 popular riders of his era.

One of his favourite venues was and still is Oliver's Mount, where he took the chequered flag ten times in total, his first major win coming in 1977 when he won the Cock o'the North Trophy, relatively early in his🔴 career on the Gꦜeorge Beale 750 Yamaha.

Ten year's later riding the Skoal Bandit Suzuki he won the coveted Internation♈al Gold Cup - one of thehighlights of his racing career.

Peter Hillaby, of he Auto 66 Club, organisers of the road races at 'The Mount' said: "Roger was one of the most popular riders to have raced around the circuit during an era when the opposition 📖consisted of the lik𝐆es of Barry Sheene, Mick Grant, Steve Parrish, Dave Potter, Graeme Crosby and Wayne Gardner - all Oliver's Mount heroes.

"I am sure that everyone will give Roger a hu𝓀ge welcome over the 🌳Festival weekend where we recall the achievements of one his arch-rivals and friend Barry Sheene."

Theꩵ Bar🔯ry Sheene Road Race Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday 23rd & 24th May, with the action getting underway both days at 9.30am.

In addition to the 24 scheduled races, which will see both Classic and Modern machines competing at the meeting for the first time, there will be a number of parades featuring 🍎Europea༺n and Japanese racing machines.

Admission is available at the✤ entrance, adults ?15 each day or a two day ticket ?28, accompanied children 15 and under and parking is free.
