MotoཧGP returns to the scene of last year's dramatic season-opener as Jerez hosꦫts round four of the 2021 campaign this weekend.
Mon𒐪ster Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo arrives on top of the world with victories in the last two races and, having made history by winning last year's Jerez events as a satellite M1 rider, will start as one of the main favourites.
On the other side of the pit box, Maverick Vinales was runner-up to the young Frenchman in bot💮h 202🌠0 races and began this season with a victory in Qatar, but slumped to eleventh last time in Portimao.
Vinales isn't the only Yamaha rider in need of a return to his 2020 Jerez form, with ⛎Valentino꧅ Rossi absent from the podium ever since last year's Andalucia race and no higher than twelfth in the opening races of his Petronas career.
One rider with very different memories of Jer༒ez 2020 is eight-time world champion Marc Marquez, whose accident in the closing stages of last year's season opener - after mounting a stunning charge through the field – resulted in nine months on the sidelines.
The Repsol Honda rider finally returned to action in Porti🌃mao, where he qualified sixth and finished in seventh place. How much of an improvement can he make this weekend?
The Jerez action begins with two fre🔯e practice sessions on Friday….
