Sam Lowes has begun his quest for a first Moto2 title in perfect fashion wi🍸th two wins from two in Qatar.

The British rider h♉as picked up exactly where he left off last season before the injury he suffered in Valencia, which had seen him take three wins in sꦅuccession. 

Unlike the first round of the year at the Losail International Circuit, Lowes was made to work until the checkered flag for 🉐his second win after an intense last lap with Remy Gardner. 

Lowes led most of the race, but was kept honest by the Australian who tried his best to make a move on the Elf Marc VDS rider, as both riders set theღir fastest times on the final lap. 

Speaking after his second win of the season, Lowes said: "W𒉰e had three weeks here in the desert with very changeable conditions. It was definitely not easy. But I think we saved the best for last!. 

"That was a really fast race pace – the fastest we’ve had in Qatar in Mot💧𓂃o2. 

"I’m really happy with how I approached these two races. I feel I’ve improved in myself and can be more relaxed in th🐈e race." 

While it remains early in the season, and yes way too early 🅺to think of predicting a champion, the🔴 form Lowes has shown so far suggests he will be the man to beat. 

But givꦉen the manner of his win, it’s easy to see why confidence is high in the Briton’s camp. 

"I know it’s only the start of the year, but it’s been a really good start. ༺To have somebody behind me all race and not make any mistakes is really important and that will give me a lot of confidence," said Lowes. 

"When I won last year and last week I had a bigger gap so this was a bit different and I managed fine and felt really c💛omfortable. 

"I’m lookingᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ f🅺orward to getting to Portugal and being able to ride there with two hands this time! Last year that wasn’t the case. 

"We’ve hജad a great few weeks, everyone is ready for home and I couldn’t be hap🐼pier to take 50 points back."
