Marc Marqu🐓ez has been confirmed with a fr꧙actured arm following his accident during the Spanish MotoGP at Jerez, throwing his hopes of defending his MotoGP World Championship title into serious doubt.

The Spaniard high-sided at Turn 3 with three laps remaining, falling heavily on his arm, with Repsol Honda team boss Alberto Puig confirming he had been transferred to the medical centre to undergo further checks𒐪.

“Marc took a big hit to the upper arm, now they are checking it and doing an X-Ray,” he said. “He 💮has had some pain🍨 killers for the pain."

Repsꦅol Honda has since confirmed Marquez has indeed fractured his humerus and will be transferred to hospital to undergo surgery.

With the team admitting it is unclear how long a recovery he will need, it puts him in serious doubt for the secꦑond round of the season with the Andalusian MotoGP just days away.

“A fall at Turn 3 while fighting for t🦩he podium has resulted in a broken right humerus for the reigning World Champion, who will travel to Barcelona for surgery.

“After mounting an incredible comeback in the Spanish GP, Marc Marquez suffered a high side at Turn 3 and came down heavily on his right arm. As a 💞result, the eight-time World Champion has suffered a transverse diaphyseal fracture to his right humerus. MotoGP mꦆedical staff have confirmed there is no other serious head or thoracic trauma but will remain under observation for 12 hours.

"Marquez wi꧒ll travel to the Hospital Universitari Dexeus in Barcelona on Monday, July 20 and is aimi🐻ng to be operated on by Dr Xavier Mir and his team on Tuesday, July 21st.
