MotoGP rookie Joan Mir was fortunate to escape ♉serious injury after sufferi𝓰ng a big accident during the final hour of Monday's post-race test at Brno.

The Suzuki rider l🥀ost control into Turn 1, his GSX-🎃RR left heavily damaged after vaulting the trackside barriers while an ambulance was sent to attend to Mir.

"The crash was a scary one, but finally it looks like everything is more or less OK," Mi🤡r&nbsꦇp;said.

"I had some pain and s🅘truggled to breathe initially, but then the situation got better and better and I received excellent assistance and support from the medics at the track."

Suzuki said that Mir was 'initially diagnosed at the circuit with a pulmonary contusion. A CT scan and furt🍷her checks at the local hospital confirmed tওhat there is no further damage, but he will need to be monitored over the next days while he rests and recovers'.

"It will take a couple of days to recover, I need to take it easy and take my time, but at the moment I feel relieved that everything is OK, and 🐻I hope I will be 100% ready to race in Austria," added Mir, who set the seventh fastest time at the test.

The Spaniard now has less than four days to recover before he is ꦓdue back on track for opening ꦯpractice at the Red Bull Ring.

"Finge♋🐈rs crossed for Joan," said team manager Davide Brivio.

Mir, 13th💟 in the world championship with a best finish of sixth, was taken out꧂ by Franco Morbidelli's fallen bike on the opening lap of Sunday's race.

Team-mate Alex Rins set the fou⛎rth-fastest 💎time at the test.

“I compared ༺the new fairing - with the new aerodynamic package - to the old one, and it helped me to confirm my good feeling with the new fairing," Rins said.

"I▨ also tested a new chassis and swingarm, and the difference isn’t as obvious as it is with the fairing, so we need to do a bit more analysis. I’m pleased with the work done, and I’m looking forward to going to Austria.”
