KymiRing undergoes MotoGP inspection ahead of test

New circuit KymiRing, set to ho🍃st the Finnish MotoGP round from 2020, has undergone an inspection by MotoGP and FIM officials in preparation for the two-day test scheduled next month.

The newly-built circuit was visited b💛y FIM Safety Officer Franco Uncini, Dorna Race Direction representative Loris Capirossi and Dorna Sporting Senior Director Carlos Ezpeleta the day after the Dutch MotoGP round to assess the development of the track construction.

New circuit KymiRing, set to host the Finnish MotoGP round from 2020, has undergone an inspection by MotoGP and FIM officials in preparation for the two-day test sch♊eduled next month.

The newly-built circuit was visited by FIM Safety Officer F༺ranco Uncini, Dorna Race Direction representative Loris Capirossi and Dorna Sporting Senior 📖Director Carlos Ezpeleta the day after the Dutch MotoGP round to assess the development of the track construction.

Minor modifications have been requested, which will be completed after the Moto💞GP test set to take place on August 19-20, while the inspection also evaluated the FIM kerbs, flag tests plus track and medical marshals.

“The progress we saw was amazing and we believe the track will be ready for the test on the 19th to 20th of August,” Carlos Ezpeleta, Dorna Sportiꦗng Senior Director, said.

“The layout of the track is great an🔜d we hope i🦄t will lead to exciting racing, everything seems to be happening on schedule and we’re very much looking forward to seeing the first MotoGP bikes on track at the KymiRing soon.”

Concerns𝔍 had grown over delays to the construction of the new circuit which is set to gain top grade licence from both the FIM and the FIA – effectively meaning it is able to host premier class motorsport – with the circuit holding a five-year deal to host the Finnish MotoGP round starting in 2020.

MotoGP test teams will travel to the KymiRing to complete a two-day test, taking place between the Austrian🍨 and British rounds, on August 19-20.

In a MotoGP release, Uncini, responsible for the homologation of the circuit, confirmed he’s💧 confident the track wi🎃ll meet safety standards while Capirossi was pleased with the layout.

“We got great feedback from the safety professionals and ꧑we are continuing to build KymiRing Circu𒁃it as one of the greatest circuits of the world,” Tapio Nevala, President of Finnish Motorcycling Federation, said.
