Joan Mir feels he is noꦰw ‘in the correct way’ after concluding a breakthrough MotoGP weekend at the Circuit de 🥃Barcelona-Catalunya with a quick showing in testing.

Enjoying his strongest MotoGP outing since h🎃is headline-grabbing debut at Qatar earlier in the year, Mir reached Q2 and avoided carnage around him to come home 🐠in sixth position only a second behind team-mate Alex Rins.

Going on to record the eighth quickest time in testing as he trialled modification🧸s to the GSX-RR, the 2017 Moto3 Champion feels he has turned a c🀅orner.

“We tried new things and we had some improvements, I am so happy about this because I was able to have a really good pace today, it was a really positive test for us. We are🐓 in the correct way to find a good result.

“Straight away I wasꦍ able to do a really good pace in the morni༒ng, I felt better grip and also my confidence with the bike, my feeling was better everywhere.”

Reflecting on the race, Mir suggests he could have pushed to ꧙be closer to the podium fight but accepted he needed to secure the top six position he was in after a difficult run of races.

“:I had a lot of bad races in the first part💛 of the season and yesterday was an opportunity to finish the race in a good position sღo I didn’t want to risk it more.”
