Generous gesture by Dorna boss
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has been revealed as the winning bidder for a special 'Super SIC' Honda CBR1000RR, auctioned off on eBay to ra൩ise funds for the Marco Simoncelli Foundation.
According to Spanish sportspaper , Ezpelet𒁏a provided the highest bid at just over 50,000 euros - then raised it to 58,000 in further honour of Simoncelli, who raced with the #58.
Instead of taking ownership of the bike, Ezpeleta will hand itꦇ bꦦack to Simoncelli's parents.
"We are deeply mov𝔍ed. This gesture will stay in our hearts," Marco's father Paolo is quoted as s⛦aying.
Former 250cc world champion Simoncelli lost his life𝓡 during last October's Malaysian MotoGP race.
The special CBR had been presented to Marco's🐬 father, along with Simoncelli's RC212V race b𓄧ike, by HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto.
