PICS: Sofuoglu, Simon Catalunya crash

This is the accident (see below for full sequence) that left Moto2 title contender Julian Simon with a double fract꧒ure to his right leg, at Catalunya💎 on Sunday.
The accident began when double World Supersport champ🎃ion Kenan Sofuoglu tagged the rear wheel of second place Simon on lap 16.
That contact flicked the Spaniard into a heavy highside,ܫ with also Sofuoglu off track. The Turkish rider was then unable to avoid the tumbling Simon, striking himꦫ in the back before also falling.
Sofuoglu was quick to apologise for the incident but Simon, who began the race second in the championship, has now dropped to fourth place - 🔯53 points from Stefan Bradl - and is on his way to surgery.
With both riders receivi🍌ng medical treatment, Race Direction is to 'organise a hearing' into the incident 🍨on Thursday.
