MotoGP Grand Prix of Finland postponed until 2023 due to homologation

MotoGP have confirmed that the Grand Prix of Finland will not take place this season due to homologation.

“Homologation works at the KymiRing, together with the risks caused by th🐲e ongoing geopolitical situation in the region, have sadly obliged the cancellation of the Finnish Grand Prix in 2022,” a statement from MotoGP read. 

“The current circumstances have created delay🅰s and put the ongoing work at the new circuit at risk. 

“All parties have therefore agreed that the track’s d🅺ebut must be postponed to 2023, when MotoGP looks forwar💦d to returning to Finland for the first time in four decades.”

The 2022 MotoGP season will now be just 20 races.

 


MotoGP riders had concerns…

Alex Rins said after the Le Mans ♐meeting of the ꦜSafety Commission: “We talked a little about Finland... Theoretically we will go, the track is done.

“Some riders are worried because the track is so small. Some guys are saying that it's only first, second, thirꦐd gear. But it’s the same for everybody.”
