MotoGP's FIM Medical Officer Giancarlo di Filippo has given an update on the con🐼dition of Moto3 rider Jason Dupasquier, who was airlifted to hospital after a multi-bike accident at the end of qualifying at M🐻ugello.

The Swiss rider fell on the exit of Turn 9, with the following Ayumu Sasaki and then Jeremy Alcoba caug꧃ht up in the aftermath.

Sasaki was launched high into the air, but it was soon💖 clear that Dupasquier was the most badly injured. The 19-year-old PruestelGP rider underwent lengthy medical treatment by trackside doctors, suggesting he may have been stuck by at least one of the following riders.

A medical helicopter was subsequently called in, which landed at the 🔯scene of the accident before taking Dupasquier directly to a hospital in Florence.

"Rider #50 Jason Dupasquier was involved in a very serious crash in Qualifying 2 of Moto🅠3," said di Filippo.

"The FIM Medical Intervention team arrived immediatel🍒y at the site of the accident. After that he was transferred in a hemodynamically stable way [stable heart/blood circulation] to the hospital in Florence.

"For the moment, we know that he’s in a very serious condition and we are waiting for further updates 🌠by the hospital."

Alcoba was able to walk away while Sasaki, who also needed treatment at the scene, escaped serious injury♕:

"[Dupasquier] crashed in front of me, his bike came to the track and I couldn’t avoid it. I hit his bike and had a very big crash. Fortunately, I’m ok. I have some pain everywhere and mainly in ༺my foot, but it’s not broken," said Sasaki.

“When such things happen it’s hard to speak about anything else," said Alcoba. "All I can say 📖is that Jason can recover as quick as possible.

"I was pushing hard because I didn’t get the chequered flag and I thought I could improve, but at the Arrabbiata corner we saw the red flag: Rodrigo, wꦡho was ahead 𝓰of me, hit the brakes and I moved to the right to a blind spot and before I knew it I was on the ground.

"I didn’♎t even have the time to realise how and why I cras🐈hed.”

"Our thoughts obviously are all for Dupasquier, as we hope he can recover as quick as possible♑," added team-mate Rodrigo.

While a💧waiting further news on Dupasquier, the Gresini team has d൩ecided to postpone the Tribute Lap planned for Fausto Gresini at Mugello this evening, while nine time world champion Valentino Rossi said:

"First of all, we want to speak a bit about the crash in Moto3 which is the most important thing of today, a lot more than the MotoGP practice. Unfortunately, this is the most dangerous thing in motorcycle races. Because Dupasquier crashes and one or maybe two riders [hit] him from behind. I hope he can be good, that the condition is not very bad. But the image was very bad w🎃ith ♏the helicopter, and everything. I hope for Dupasquier."
