After getting the chance to make two MotoGP appearances for Petronas Yamaha, as an injury-replacement for Franco Morbidelli, Jake Dixon returns to the Moto2 class with SRT from Misano onwardꦦs.

Injured at the end of last year, the Englishman rode to a best Moto2 f꧅inish of seventh before the M1 rides, which saw him close to within 1.346s of the preꦚmier-class best in warm-up at Aragon, only to fall early in the race.

With his future still unclear, Dixon hopes to use some of what he has learned in MotoGP to progress on the Kalex Moto2 machine this weekend, at a track where൲ he claimed a sixth place last season.

"After enjoying two weekends riding in the MotoGP category, I’m putting my full focus back into Moto2 now and I want to do the best possible job that I c𓂃an," said Dixon. "It’s going to take a session or two to get back into it, after ridinꦜg the big bike, to understand everything again.

"However, I’m sure that once I find the feeling I’ll be able to be fast again and hopefully we can ke🅷ep building on where we left off in Austria. I’m sure that what I’ve learned over the past two GPs will help me to progress further and be fighting for good results."

SRT is being reborn as a 'new entity' for 2022, when the Moto2 and Moto3 projects will be disbanded and the satellite Yamaha team c♏ontinue under a new name.

More details are due to be revealed at Misano this weekend, with Dixon's Moto3 team-mate Darryn Binder still favourite to land the remaining Y♓amaha MotoGP seat alongside Andrea Dovizioso.

If so, Dixon's priority is likely to be finding an alternative Mꦍoto2 seat for 202🐓2.

Official confirmation of Dovizioso's MotoGP returꦺn with Petronas this weekend and Morbidelli's switch to M෴onster Yamaha is expected tomorrow (Thursday).
