The Swede waꦐs vaulted over the top 🅘of Tomas Scheckter's car and into the catch fencing, which ripped all the ancillary parts from the Team Rahal Dallara before leaving Brack spinning down the road still encased in its safety cell. Although there was initially some concern over his condition, this was later regraded to 'status three', meaning that his life was not in any immediate danger, despite multiple fractures.
According to Dr Henry Bock, the IRL's director of medical services, Dr Brian Estridge, a specialist trauma surgeon, and Dr Charles Reinert, aꦬn orthopaedic surgeon, performed the surgery. Brack remains in serious but stable condition at the hos💃pital, but is awake and alert.
The former IRL and Indy 500 champion suffered a fractured right femur, a fractured sternum and lumbar and fractures to both ank෴les in the lap 188 accident during the Chevy 500.
Further updates on Brack's condition will be provided whꦿen avail𓂃able.
