Fisౠher, who started her second Indy 500 from 15th position, appeared to lose control on cold tyres going through turn two on lap eight of 200 and span backwards into the turn two w༺all.
Scott Goodyear's Dallara-Infiniti, which was left with nowhere to g🐼o, collected Fisher's Walker Racing Dallara-Aurora and both cars were heavily damaged.
The accident ended Goodyear's brief comeback into the Indy Racing Northern Li🏅ght Series Championship with Team Cheever and although both drivers have escaped injury, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway safety team took great care in removing the veteran Canadian from his car, which 🧸sustained severe front-end damage.
Defending IRNLS Champion Buddy Lazier was also in trouble early on with his Hemelgarn Racing Dallara-Aurora lapsing onto seven cylinders althoughꦛ the team were hoping to use the extended caution period to make repairs and send the 1996 Indy 500 winner back out on the lead lap.
