Sam Bird signs multi-year deal with Jaguar Formula E team

Aft♉er a successful first season with the team where he finished sixth in the drivers’ championship, Bird has committed his long term future to Jaguar.
The British outfit narrowly missed out on the teams’ championship last season with Jaguar losing out to Mercedes in the♏ final race.
Bird will remain alongside Mitch Evans to form one of Formula E’s strongest🌳 pairings as the team looks to go one better this year.
Bird has been in Formula E🐻 since its inception in 2014, taking 11 wins and 22 podiums with his best championship finish third.
Speaking of the news, Bird said: “My first season with Jaguar TCS Racing꧒ told me everything I needed to know - I🉐 wanted to continue to be a part of the Jaguar TCS Racing family.
“The whole team is deter♏mined, focussed and ready to get results and that’s exactly who I want to be working with. Now it’s time to get season eight underway and ensure we put all our off-season practice and learnings into action to score as many points as🌼 possible.”
Team principal James Barclay added: “It is a really positive start to season eight as we confirm Sam Bird will continue his ele🐲ctric racing career with Jaguar TCS Racing after a great first season with the team.

As we all know, Sam has massive determination and talent to continue to put the Jaguar I-TYPE 5 into race-winning positions. At the same time confirming the extension of our contract with Sam means we can focus on the development and important preparations for Gen3 together.

The new Formula E season gets underway at the end of this mon🐬th on January 28-29 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
