Prema's Logan Sergeant claims maiden F3 pole at Silverstone

Logan Sergeant soared to his maiden FIA Formula 3 pole position at Silverstone, pipping Red Bull Formula 1 junior Liam💯 Lawson.
The Prema driver left it late to rocket to the top of the timesheets on a 1m46.257s, a𓂃 time that was just 0.058s faster than Lawson, who claimed his best qualifying result to date for Hitech Grand Prix.
ꦍEarly F3 championship leader Oscar Piastri had sat on provisional pole heading into the final fly🍃ing laps but was unable to usurp his Prema teammate and was left to settle with a third-place starting slot for the opening race at the British Grand Prix venue.
Briton𝔉 Max Fewtrell was fourth-fastest in his Hitech Grand Prix machine, less than half a second of꧂f pole position.
The third Prema of Frederik Vesti held P5, ahead of ART Grand Prix’s Sebastian Fernandezᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ🐎ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ, HWA Racelab driver Jake Hughes, and Trident’s Lirim Zendeli.
ꦕAlexander Smolyar, who claimed his maiden F3 pole last time out in Hungary, was ninth-quickest, just one tenth clear of Clement Novolak, who completed the top 10 for Carlin Buzz Racing.
Just missing out on a spot in the top 10 was Trident’s David Beckmann and Theo Pourchaire, who has alr🍬eady notched up two impressive victories for ART Grand Prix at the age of just 16.
The two MP Motorspoᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚrt drivers of Bent Viscaal and Richard Verschoor will line up from 13th and 14th on the grid, as Calan Williams rounded out the top-15 positions.
The opening race of the Silverstone we♈ekend takes place at 9.25am BST on Saturdไay.
