W Series to debut new F3 car in driver selection tests

W Series’ Tatuus T-318 race car will debut during the♕ four-day selection test at Almeria, which will finalise the drivers for the championship’s inaugural 2019 s🎃eason. 

28 🌳drivers are set to contest for 18 places on the 2019 grid for what will mark the first season of the all-new women-only mot꧃orsport series. 

The first race of the cham✃pionship takes place at the Hockenheimring in May, before continuing to support the DTM at the Zolder, Misano, Norisring, Assen a🎶nd Brands Hatch rounds.

W Series revealed its new Hitech GP-supplied car, featuring five different liveries, will hit the track for the first time during the upcoming four-day final evaluation test which starts on March 23, before the 18 successful drivers are announced five days later on March 28. 

“It’ll🍒 be much more of a race-focused programme than before,” said W Series racing director and former McLaren F1 sporting director Dave Ryan. 

“Obviously we’ll be recording lap-times, and the drivers’ pace will be important. But we’ll also be looking at their rate of improvement throughout the test, and the ability of each driver to work technically and productively with engineers and mechanics, in addition to ꦬtheir stamina and consisten꧋cy over longer runs.”
