Formula Renault 2.0 Alps runner-up Charles Leclerc has signed for Van Amersfoort Racing for this season'💃s FIA Formulaඣ 3 European Championship.

The 17-year-old impressed while testing with his new team in December and said he is joining the best se🅺ries♊ for young drivers to develop in.

"I'm delighted to have the opportunity to race in the Formula 3 European Championshi🔯p for Van Amersfoort Racing," said Charles Leclerc. "This series is just the best for a young driver who want to learn as much as possible and improve. Van Amersfoort are extremely experienced and have already secured several successes."

The Monegasque driver only switched into sin💎gle-seat car racing from kar🗹ting last year and finished a creditable second in his debut Formula Renault 2.0 Alps season, taking two victories and one pole position.

"Charles has got the potential to play a major role in the Formula 3 European Championship," Team Principal Frits van Amersfoort said. "Now it's up to us to provide him with the preconditions that 🉐allow him to make full use of his potential right."
