Mercedes F1 junior George Russell joins ART in Formula 2
Mercedes-backed youngster George Russell will step up to Formula 2 for the 2018 season with ART Grand Prix, partnering Jꦕack Aitken.
Russell,🧸 19, swept to the GP3 title in 2017 with ART, clinchin🐭g the crown with two races to spare before enjoying his maiden Formula 1 practice appearance in Brazil with Force India.
The Briton tested with ART in the post-season F2 test in Abu Dhabi, and has now been confirmed by the team as being part of its line-up for the 201ཧ8 season which starts in Bahrain on April 7.

"I am very happy to be able to race in Formula 2 while continuing to drive for ART Grand Prix. We had a very successful year together last season and so♕ it makes sense to continue working together and seek out new successes," Russell said.
"With the introduction of a new Formula 2 car, it will be challenging for all the teams to optimize the set-up from the start of the season, but I have every confidence i𝔍n ART Grand Prix to get there and to be competitive as quickly as possible.
"I cannot wait to take part in 𒆙the first race and fight against some of the best drivers and teams at the pinnacle of junior motorsport."
