Norris tops disrupted first day
Lando Norris led the way on the opening day of F1 prꩲe-season testing in Bahrai🍃n.
The McLaren dri⛄ver posted a time 0.157s quicker than🐠 Mercedes’ George Russell, while reigning world champion Max Verstappen was a couple of tenths adrift in third for Red Bull.
Carlos Sainz was an eye-c♍atching fifth for Williams, though lap times in pre-season ⛄testing always need to be taken with a rather large pinch of salt.
18-year-old Kimi Antonelli, who set the pace in the morning session before handing over to Mercedes teammate Russell, was seventh ahead ♒of Red Bull’s Liam L🦹awson.
Lewis Hamilton captured the attention of the F1 paddock in the morning as he ma𝐆de his first offici🔯al test outing for Ferrari. The seven-time world champion finished 13th-fastest overall.
The first day of running 🎉was bizarrely halted by a power cut midway through the afternoon sesꦿsion.
A circuit-wide power outage caused the session to be red-flagged🔯 for over an hour as the paddock an𓄧d garages descended into darkness.
Once power was restoreꦯd, the session was extended by an extra hour to compensate for the lost running.&ꦆnbsp;
