Mercedes successfully fires up W13 F1 car ahead of 2022 season

The Mercedes Formula 1 team has successfully fired up its 2022 car - the W13 - ahead of next season.

Mercedes goes into 2022 on the back of winning eight consecutive constructors’ championships🌱, while it has won seven of the last eight drivers’ titles.

The team shared a clip of its W13ౠ being fired up for the first time on social media on Thursday afternoon.

Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Ha🍌milton will remain withꦬ the team for 2022, partnering George Russell.

After missing out in dramatic circumstances in 2021, Hamilton will be once again eyeing a record-breaking e🍨ighth world title. 

Russell makes the move up from W𓂃illiams after three impressive seasons, scoring ಌthe Grove-based outfit’s first podium since 2017 at Spa earlier this year.

While Mercedes has been the dominant force in the V6 turbo♊ hybrid era, F1 embarks on a new era in 2022 with completely new regulations which are expected to level the playing field and improve overtaking.

The 2022 season gets underway in Bahrai🔜n on Marchไ 20 before heading to Saudi Arabia.

Before the season s🔯tarts, tw💫o tests will take place with the first in Barcelona before the teams head to Bahrain ahead of the opener.

In terms of its rivalꦗs, Ferrari has confirmed that it plans to launch its own 2022 chall🐷enger in mid-February.
