Charles Leclerc isolating after testing positive for COVID-19 again

The Ferrari Formula 1 team has announced that Charles Leclerc has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in 2021.

The two-time F1 grand prix winner tested positive for coronavirus in J꧙anuary, suffering mild symptoms.

Wꦐith the F1 season done and dusted, Leclerc has returned to🍌 his home in Monaco but tested positive for the virus on his way back from Abu Dhabi.

A statement on Ferrari’s social media, read: “Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow driver Charles Leclerc has tested positive for COVID-19. In acco꧟rdance with protocols requi🎶red by FIA and the team, Charles was tested on his return from Abu Dhabi.

“He is currently feeling fine, with mild symptoms and w🍨il🦩l self-isolate at home.”

Kimi R﷽aikkonen and Nikita Mazepin both missed races in 2021 after testing positive for COVID-19, while Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll sat out of grands prix last season. 

Leclerc finished 10th in the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP, dropping to seventh in the drivers’ championship behind Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz and McLaren’s ๊Lando Norris.

Ferrari secured third🍨 in the constructors’ championship in 2021.
