Lando Norris having x-ray after scary Belgian GP qualifying shunt

McLaren Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has been taken to hospital for a precautionary x-ray of his elbow following his scary crash in Belgian Grand Prix qualifying.

Norris lostꦕ control on his first flying lap of Q3 in wet conditions as he approached Eau Rouge, before ha𒊎ving a violent hit with the barriers and eventually coming to rest at the top of the hill following several spins.

The Briton reported he was okay oveꦡr team radio and climbed out of his wrecked McLaren car but was seen holding his elbow as he walked away from the scene of his accident.

In an update after qualifying had finished, McLaren confirmed Norris was seen at the trackside medical centre before being sent to a local hospital for a “precautionary” x-ray to check🐻 his e💝lbow.

Q3 was immediately red-flagged after Norris’ crash and the session was stopped for over half an hour while a cl🐲ean-up operation took place.

R𝐆ed Bull’s Max Verstappen denied George Russell a maiden F1 pole in a dramatic end to qualifying once Q3 restarted.

Norris appeared on course to land a great result for McLaren having set the fastest time in both Q1 and Q2. He was o🎃fficially classified 10th in Q3.
