Formula 1 has announced the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka will remain on the calendar for a f♐urther three years after a new deal has been agreed. 

The deal agreed between race promoter Mobilityland an🐠d F1 means the Japanese GP w🔯ill remain on the calendar until the 2024 season.

🅷The race has been a mainstay on the calendar since 1987, often the scene of many iconic title finales over the years.

The 2020 Ja👍panese GP was cancelled as a result of the coronavirus, while F1 is expected to return in October despite growing concerns ahead of the Olympics, which are set to take place in Tokyo in the summer.

Japanese manufacturer Honda is bowing out of the sport at the end of the꧒ season but Japan sees representation in terms of a driver for the first time since 2014 in𝓡 the form of AlphaTauri’s Yuki Tsunoda.

Speaking of the announcement, F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “I am truly delighted that Formula 1 will continue to race at Su🌜zuka Circuit for another three years. 

“Japan holds a special place in the hearts and minds of F1 fans all over the world, and Su🍬zuka has played host to many of the sport’s most legendary moments, with 11 Drivers’ titles b🥃eing decided there. 

“The Japanese Grand Prix has always showcased gripping, edge-of-your-seat drama, and I am thrill𓆉ed we can continue to bring the action and excitement that is Formula 1 to the passionate motorsport fans of Japan.

“This extension is part of our long-term commitment to growing the sport in Asia, and we are pleased to be able to continue our successful relationship with Mobilityland. I’d like🐻 to personally thank Mr Tanaka and his team for their continued efforts in reaching this agreement, and we look forward to working with the promoter to increase the popularity and fanbase of Formula 1 there.”

Suzuka💛 celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2💛022, having been built in 1962.
