Ferrari F1 team must question ‘certain decisions’ – Wolff

Mercedes Formula 1 boss Toto Wolff believes Ferrari needs to “question” certain decisions it has made after suffering a dram🀅atic performance slump this year.

Ferrari lock🏅ed out the front-row at the 2019 Belgian Gra𓄧nd Prix but in qualifying for this year’s race at Spa-Francorchamps, the team was left battling against an embarrassing elimination in Q1.

In the end both Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel were able to progress to Q2 but that was as far as the Scuderia cars would proceeed, as Ferrari failed to get at least one of its SF1000s into the top 10 in qualifying for the first time this season.

Leclerc and Vettel ultimately qualified 13th and 14th in Belg✨ium as Ferrari was only faster than the Williams, Alfa Romeo and Haas cars.

Much of Ferrari’s struggles this year have come after a significant loss in engine performance following a series of ꦓrule clarifications issued over the winter that ultimately led the team to reach a private settlement with the FIA over its controversial 2019 power unit in February.

Commenting on Ferrari’s lack of performance, Wolff said: “Ferrari is an iconic b🌃rand and they should b🧔e racing at the very front.

“It’s not good for Formula 1, not good for the competition at the front and I veryᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ muc🍃h feel for all the Tifosi for this lack of performance.

“But at th🐓e end, one must question the priorities that have been set in recent times and where the lack of performance comes from.”

“Overall, nobo🤪dy from the fans and the Ferrari people, deserve such a resu𝔍lt.”

Asked to clarify what he meant by priorities, Wolff replied: “It’༺s wrong to say Ferrariﷺ’s priorities because that drags Ferrari and everybody at Ferrari into this.

“It’s maybe the decisions that have been made within the team from certain m൲embers of the team.”
