It is a weekend tha🎐t co🦋uld see the coronation of the 2019 F1 world champion, with Lewis Hamilton standing on the verge of becoming a six-time world champion.
The Briton holds a 74-point advantage over Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas and just needs to score four points in Sunday's race to claim the 2019 driver𓆏s' 𒅌crown, which would mark his second championship triumph at the Austin venue.
Hamilton has won 10 times already this season and has an enviable record at the Circuit of the Americas, having taken victory in all but two of the seven grands prix held in Texas▨ since the race was added to the F1 calendar in 2012. He also has more victories in the United States than any other driver with six in total, including his 2007 win when the race was held in Indianiapolis.
After three consecutive defeats, Ferrari will be keen to return to winning ways in Austin. The Scuderia has taken six straight pole positions in a resu♈rgence of form since the summer break but has not been able to convert pole into victory since September's Siꩲngapore Grand Prix.
Ferrari won last year's race at COTA as ๊;Kimi Raikkonen ended his 113-race victory drought and the Italian squad will be confident of challenging again this time around, given its strong performances in the second half of the campaign.
Saturday's track action gets underway with the final 60-minute practice session at 1300 local time (1800 GMT), befor♊e qualifying begins at 1600 local (2100 GMT).
