Racing Point Formula 1 team principal and CEO Otmar Szafnauer says his side is “well on 🌞our way” to confirming its driver line-up for 2❀020.

Lanc♈e Stroll followed his father, Lawrence, across from Williams to Racing Point over the winter after the Canadian businessman successfully took over the former Force India squad last ye💃ar, in what was described as a “long-term deal”.

At the Hungarian Grand Prix prior to F1’s summer break, Sergio Perez, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, said he is just 168澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果历史:“a matter of time” away from securing a fresh contract, adding the team was🧔 his “priorityℱ” for next season.

Asked if the team’s 2020 driver line-up is now a formality given its past consistency, Szafnauer said: “Well nothing’s done until it’s done, but we’re well on our way.

“That [consistency] is valuable. We have done that, with every once in a while a change. I think in due course, not 🐽that far into the future, we’ll make the announcement.”

The Silverstone-based outfit currently holds eighth place in the constructors’ championship and is just eight points behind sixth-placed Renault after Lance Stroll picked up the team’s best re﷽sult of the season during a chaotic race in Germany.

Speaking about Stroll, Szafnauer added: “He’s really good. He’s gelling well with his engineering team and learning and getting better and better.

“The potential’s there, he’s fast. When you make a change, there’s always stuff to learn and new things. Bu🐎t he’s a very fast learner, very coachable.”

Theꦆ Canadian occupies 12th place in the drivers’ standings on 18 points, four points clear of stablemate Perez, wh𝄹o has not recorded a top-10 appearance since finishing sixth in April’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
