Haas Formula 1 boss Guenther Steiner says Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean’s on-track clashes a🌜re “getting old” and insists the pair cannot continue crashing into each other.
Having already collided at 🅠Barcelona and Silverstone this year, Magnussen and Grosjean once again came together late on i🥃n Sunday’s German Grand Prix as they made contact at the Turn 6 hairpin.
Both drivers escaped without picking up any damage and went on to record the American squad’s second double points finish of the season. But Steiner felt his team “got lucky” on this occasion and warned he may 𝓀have to take action by implementing team o🏅rders if such incidents continue.
“I think we got lucky that there was 🗹no damage but I didn’t see it properly, so I want to look at it properly and calm d๊own about it and need to see what we are going to do,” he said.
“I saw it on TV but I didn🎃’t t꧟he replays. I need to see what I can do because it’s not acceptable.
“We cannot keep on every race running into ꧟each othe🍸r. It’s getting old.
“It’s also common sense that needs to come into play here, if I have to call every single overtaking manoeuvre myself, I think then Iও better go and drive myself and that would not be q𒐪uick.”
Grosjean said he didn’t want to comment on the collision, while Magnusse👍n felt the Frenchman was to blame.
"We don't have a rule thaꦦt we are not allowed to race each other,” the Dane explained.
"We've been told very clearly that we can't touch each other, and I see no reason w🍷hy we had to touch each other.
"It's very clear I was on the inside, it's not like I was diving on the inside, and then he [Grosjean] chooses to turn into me. I don't know what he was ꧑doing."
