A Ferrari mechanic has sustained a&n൲bsp;shinbone and fibula fractures after being hit by Kimi Raikkonen in a pit stop accident during the Bahrain Grand Prix, Ferrari has 𒀰confirmed.

At the end of lap 34 Raikkonen pitted for his second stop during the Bahrain race but an issue with his pit stop saw the Fℱinnish driver forced out of the race having been෴ running in third place.

Raikkonen’s Ferrari pit crewꦐ had a problem with detaching the rear-left wheel on his SF71H, with his old soft tyre still attached while the other three wheels were changed. A pit stop procedure error saw the Finnish driver given the green light to exit the pit but it triggered a collision with his pit cr▨ew who were still trying to take off the rear-left tyre.

TV footage showed Ferrari mechanic, Francesco Cigarꦡini, hit by the rear of Raikkonen’s car and required medical attention which forced Ferrari to close its piꦆt.

F📖errari has tweeted the mechanic has suffered a shinbone and fibula fracture and ha💦s been taken a local hospital in Bahrain for treatment. Ferrari were fined €50,000 for its unsafe released during a pit stop.

Vettel, who gave a tribute to the injured mechanic on the podium after clinching a dramatic victory in Bahrain, was unable to pit for the remainder of the race as he nursed his soft tyres home by fe🌼nding off a late Valtteri Bottas charge.
