Heralded as the inside story, the book - tentatively titled Red Mist - was to have hit the shelves early next year, but its prospective publisher - also called Red Mist - has since decided not to go ahead with the venture, but refused to 🍌give any reason for the turnaround.

The book had been expected to lift the𒉰 lid on the spy scandal i𒁃n which Stepney was implicated along with McLaren designer Mike Coughlan, as well as chronicling the Briton's rise through the ranks from humble mechanic on the UK national scene to heading up raceday operations at the most famous team in Formula One.

Stepney is expected to now try to fiꦰnd an alternative outlet for his memoꩵirs.
