Nelson Piquet’s Lewis Hamilton remarks: Ex-F1 champion given 15-day deadline by Brazilian authorities to explain racist and homophobic comments

Nelson Piquet has 15 days to clarify the racist and homophobic remarks he made about Lewis Hamilton, according to reports.

The Justice of the Federal District in Brazil accepted the actions of four organisations who have sued Piquet in♛ his home country for the 🤪comments,

They are seeking compensation of R$ 10 mill♈ion (£1.56m).

The charges𒁏 allege moral damage to black and LGBTQ+ groups.

Piquet can co♌ntest this charge within the allotted 15 day൩s, from Monday 11 July.

The former three-time F1 world champion, whose daughter is the girlfriend of Max Verstappen, used a racisꦛt word to describe Hamilton in a resurfaced interview from last year.

Further footage saw him add a homophobic word.

Piquet apologised but insisted the word he used was not inten⭕ded to be racist.

"I don't know why🦹 we are continuing to give these older voices a platform," Hamilto🔯n said.
