BTCC Silverstone: Ingram wins again as title race hits boiling point
Team Toyota GB's Tom Ingram pre🐈vailed to take his secꩵond British Touring Car Championship race victory of the day as the championship battle behind reached boiling point during the unpredictable conditions at Silverstone.
The Toyota Corolla driver crossed the line 1.021s ahead o🍨f championship leader Colin Turkington when the race was red-flagged with🗹 five-laps to go as the rain shower quickly intensified.

The Toyota Corolla driver crossed the line 1.021s ahead of championship leader Colin Turkington when the race was red-flagged with five-laps to go🔯 as the rain shower quickly intensified.
Having started the race♏ from pole position, Ingram led the first half of the race but came under attack from Jason Plato and Tom Oliphant as rain began to hit the Silverstone circuit.
At one point, Ingram dropped to third after the Toyota driver received contact from Plato when the two-time champion𓂃 attempted to move into the lead of the race at Broo🐼klands corner on lap ten.
That contact subsequently allowed Team BMW𒊎's Oliphant to move into ༺the lead as he set about securing a first ever race victory in the series.
Ho✨wever, Oliphant's charge was quickly thwarted when the safety car came out on lap 14 of the race as the marshals attempted to recover Adam Morgan's gravel stricken Mercedes.
By the time the safety car ⭕came into pits, the rain had intensified and Oliphant immediately droppeඣd from first to fifth, with Ingram retaking the lead ahead of Colin Turkington, who had charged through from fourteenth to second.
It was jus�ꦡ�t prior and during the safety car phase where the tempers began to flare in the title fight when Dan Cammish and Andrew Jordan made contact behind the safety car.
W𒁏hile Cammish managed to fi🅠nish in third behind Ingram and Turkington, Jordan fell down to eighth, meaning the 2013 champion drops to third in the championship battle, 16 points behind Turkington.
Cammish moves up to second in the standings, 11 💎points behind Turkingto✃n.
Just off the podium, Power Ma🦄xed Racing's Plato finished in fourth ahead of BTC Racing duo Josh Cook and Chris Smiley in fifth and sixth.
Team BMW's Oliphant eventuaꦅlly fell further down the field to seventh ahead of Jordan in eighth. Mike Bushell and Matt Simpson completed the remainder of the top-ten order.
