Tim Bevan, a racer in the SEAT Cupra Champio🐼nship, has been killed in a roa𝓀d accident ahead of this weekend's race meeting at Brands Hatch.

The 31-year-old, who wasn't due to compete in the latest rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship support ser🌞ies, lost his life in the accident on Thursday evening, robbing the SEAT paddock of one of its most popula🔯r figures.

"Tim's flamboyant character made him stand out," a statement issued by SEAT Sport UK read. "The 31-year old from Water Orton in Birmingham ra𓂃n under theꦕ WAAP Racing banner - which tongue-in-cheek stood for Wing And A Prayer Racing - and he regularly changed the colour scheme of his SEAT Leon Cupra R.

"At Thruxton last year it appeared with a cow skin pattern and this year Tim's car suddenly turned out in bright red with 'Can you see me now?' written on the back - in response to an incident in a previous race, when a rival bumped into him and clai🌠med that he hadn't seen him. He was a very competent and competitive racing driver, and took his racing very seriously when he was behind the steering wheel.

"Tim's demolition and expo🌌rting metals business, Beaver Metals, meant that racing was always going to be a hobby, rather than a career. Yet he often went to extraordinary lengths to go racing, and flew back from China last year to race at Croft - landing in the UK just twelve hours before his first qualifying session.

"Tim leaves a huge hole in the SEAT Cupra Championship and will be missed terribly by everyone who 🍷had the pleasure to meet him in the BTCC support paddock."
