Shane Byrne’s𝕴 Be Wiser Ducati squad has confirmed the six-time𓂃 Bennetts British Superbike champion will undergo surgery after his fall during the Snetterton test and is expected to make a full recovery.

The defending BSB champion crashed on his third lap of the opening session at the Snetterton test at Turn 3 which saw the session red flagged. Byrne🥂 was treated at the track medical centre before being transported by ambulance to hospital.

Byrne remains in hospital and will have surgery on vertebrae and potentially his neck. The PBM-run Be Wiser Ducati 🉐squad says Byrne is set to make a full recovery while furthe♔r updates are expected to follow.

The 41-year-old currently sits third in the BSB riders’ championship with one win and two further rostrums from the opening three rounds of the 2018 camp🐬aign.
