John Laverty has undergone surgery on his shoulders following a vici🌳ous accident during first free practice at Oulton Park, the Buildbase BMW rider🐼 suffering a series of injuries.

Laverty crashed on the start-finish stra💎ight towards the end of FP1, a high-speed acci♒dent that prompted the red flags before he was taken to Countess of Chester Hospital.

From there, Laverty was diagnosed with a myriad of injuries, including broken ankles and a pelvis fracture, while his disl🔯ocated shoulders also necessitated su🍸rgery.

"John sustained two dislocated shoulders which were treated at the circuit medical centre and he had a further operation in hospital last night stabilising his other injuries which included two broken ankles, fractured right knee and a stable fracture ಞof the pelvis," revealed BSB Chief Medical Officer Dr. Heike Romer. "He also sustained broken ribs which will not require any further treatment."

Laverty has had a dif💃ficult season since the Buildbase team's decision to switch from Kawasaki to BMW machinery, the Ulsterman down in ⛦24th overall with just six points.
